From among the nominated commercial websites for Shekh Salim Al Ali Al Sabah IT prize – Arab World branch , Al Rajhi Bank website ( www.alrajhibank.com.sa ) won the prize of the best commercial website in the Arab world . Al Rajhi Website was the only Saudi Website that won a branch of the prize. Besides the commercial sector , the prize covers the e-government , media and communications, and development. On Wednesday morning , the award was presented to the bank at the ceremony that was tended by H.H Amir of Kwait state Sheikh Sabah Al Ahmed Al Jabir in the presence of Sheikh Salim Al Ali Al Sabah , the National Security Council member , Award Founder , chairman of its Board of Trustees , and a gathering of sheikhs and ministers from Kuwait and the Arab World
Mr. Abdullah Sulaiman Al Rajhi . Al Rajhi Bank CEO , considered this award another coronation for the bank for successful provision of electronic banking services and products. This award confirmed the distinction and excellence of the Bank website through meeting the various standards designed by the award Committee . The Award Committee is set up of Kuwaiti expertise from academic institutions such as the University of Khartoum , Organization of Applied Education , Kuwait institute for Scientific researches , and a group of professionals from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia , United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Sudan, Tunisia, Palestine, Egypt, Qatar. They have all participated in setting four major standards i.e. services, contents, technology and the user interface design , nineteen sub-standards stemmed from the said standards where Al Rajhi Bank surpassed the other nominated commercial websites form the Arab world.
The CEO thanked H.H Amir of kwait state, Award General Director and board of trustees chairman , and the Judgment committees chairman & members for IT development initiatives, for encouraging professionalism and excellence in order to be available in Arabic language on- line.
Al Rajhi went on to say that the bank developed its electronic website into an integrated banking reference for customers and visitors. The website comprises retail and corporate banking and investment services including all the products and services provided through ambitious strategy. This strategy resulted in various outstanding services such as Mubasher retail, Mubasher corporate, on-line trading, investment funds, accounts opening, remittance, affluent and private services in addition to other various services and links.
The judgment committee , on its part , held Al Rajhi Bank the best in realizing the award standards in terms of high quality, browsing, effectiveness, importance, easy use, responsiveness, and keeping abreast of the development.
This IT achievement is added to a package of achievements realized by the bank in this field as the bank received, at the beginning of current year, the best electronic business award given by the Saudi Ministry of Communication & Information Technology. Two years ago. The bank received four certificates with respect to IT and banking operations. Thus Al Rajhi became the first bank in the Middle East to receive these certificates together as a result of adopting the best international applications and criteria for provision of electronic services. The international BS7799 certificate, CMMI certificate , ISO 2000, and the ISO 9000 quality certificate.
Three years ago Al Rajhi bank represented by its CEO Abdullah Al Rajhi was selected by the information and technology publication Establishment (ITP) for Award of ( The initiator of the electronic service for the private sector) which is granted for institutions and leaders of change to digital world.
