Board of Directors
The Bank's Board of Directors represents a set of members elected by the General Assembly every three years. Members are classified according to the definitions provided in the Capital Market Authority Corporate Governance Regulations as follows:
Mr. Abdullah bin Suleiman Al Rajhi
Chairman, Board of Directors - Non-executive member
Holding a bachelor's degree in Business Administration from King Abdulaziz University in 1979, he has contributed to the conversion of Al Rajhi Exchange and Trade Company into a Public joint stock Company. Mr. Abdullah has varied experience, especially in banking, which adds up to more than thirty years. During this time, he assumed a number of leading positions most noted are his tenures as Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Al Rajhi Bank, as well as his membership in the board and in a number of board’s committees over a span of more than fifteen years. He presided over the board of directors of some of the bank's subsidiaries such as Al Rajhi Bank, Malaysia, and Al Rajhi Capital. Mr. Abdullah was chosen in January 2013 to assume the position of Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors at the Bank.
Mr. Suleiman bin Saleh Al Rajhi
Mr. Suleiman joined the banking business more than thirty-five years ago, during which he held a number of positions in administration, finance and international relations. He has contributed to the conversion of Al Rajhi Exchange and Trade Company into a Public joint stock Company. He assumed the position of board member of Al Rajhi Bank, since the first tenure. Mr. Suleiman headed the Audit Committee at the Bank, and served as a member of a number of board’s committees, in addition to his membership in the Board of Al Rajhi Capital, subsidiary of the Al Rajhi Bank.
Mr. Salah bin Ali Abaelkhail
Mr. Salah earned a bachelor's degree in Engineering from Arizona in 1972. He has been working in the field of advisory and investment for more than forty years. He assumed the position of board member of Al Rajhi Bank, since the first tenure, and served as a member of a number of board’s committees. Mr. Salah heads the Nominations, Remunerations, and Governance Committee at the Bank, in addition to his membership in the Board of Al Rajhi Capital, subsidiary of the Bank.
Mr. Abdulaziz bin Khalid Al Ghefaily
Mr. Abdulaziz received a Master's degree in economics from the United States in 1990. He has been working in the field of financial investment for more than twenty years. He has served as board member of several public joint stock companies. In July 2009, he was elected and remains a member of the Board of Directors of the bank, in his capacity as a representative of the General Organization for Social Insurance. He is also a member of a number of board’s committees of Al Rajhi Bank.
Mr. Badr Bin Mohamed Al Rajhi
With more than twenty-five years of experience, Mr. Badr has held several leading positions in areas of administration, industry and real estate investment. He has served as a member of boards of directors of joint-stock companies, and has headed the boards of a number of private companies. In the board tenure commenced on November 2011, he was elected as a member of the bank's board of director's to represent Manafea Holding Company.
Mohamed bin Abdullah Al Rajhi
Mr. Mohamed has diversified investment experience spanning more than thirty-five years during which he held a number of positions in areas of administration, finance and industry. He has been a member of the board of directors since the first tenure, and is also a member of the board of directors of some public joint stock companies.
Mr. Saeed bin Omar Al Issaie
Mr. Al Issaie holds a Bachelor degree in Industrial Engineering from the University of Miami, USA, 1980, and has been serving on the Board of Directors of the Bank since 1999. For more than 27 years, he has been exercising administrative and financial work in both Trade and Investment fields. Mr. Al Issaie is a board member of several public joint stock companies.
Mr. Ali Bin Saleh Al Barrak
Received the Master’s degree in Engineering, and has practical experience for more than 30 years, in the areas of engineering and administration, during which he held many advisory and administrative positions. He assumed the position of CEO of the Saudi Electricity Company for more than 6 years. Additionally, he is a member of many boards of government, engineering, and scientific entities, and has participations in numerous committees inside the kingdom and abroad.
Moayyed Bin Issa Al-Qurtas
Received the Master’s degree in Engineering and PHD in management, and he has a practical experience for more than 30 years in the fields of engineering, industry and management, during which he held several positions, the most notably is the CEO of the National Industrialization Company (NIC, Tasnee), then its managing director, then vice president of the Board of Directors.
He is still incumbent member in some advisory entities, and boards of some listed and unlisted companies, such as Al-Rajhi Takaful Company as well as Riyadh Cables Company.
Mr. Alaa Bin Shakeeb Al Jabri
Mr. Alaa Received the Master’s degree in Financial Administration, and he has a practical experience for more than 30 years, in the banking and financial areas, during which he held many banking leading positions in a number of local and international banks in the retail, wholesale sector, risks, and credit. He assumed the command of some banking sectors in the field of international expansions, and foreign investments. Additionally, he enjoys an experience in other commercial areas such as industrial field and so on. He has previously held and still holding the membership of some companies’ boards and committees.
Mr. Khalid Bin Abdurrahman Al-Quiz
With more than 30 years of practical experience in the banking, financial, and industrial field, during which he held number of banking leading positions in a number of local banks, in the field of retail, wholesale sector, risks, and insurance. He enjoys the membership of number of boards of industrial and financial companies, as he held the position of the CEO of the Astra Industrial Group for more than 6 years, and he is the incumbent managing director of ACWA Holding Group (Arabian Company for Water and Power Development).
