Al Rajhi Bank has organized full-fledged initiatives throughout the year, in collaboration with Etaam food bank, following their 2019 year-long agreement, spanning over a period of 8 months and two phases for men and women. These initiatives took place in the foundation’s centers in Riyadh, Jeddah, Dammam, Jubail and Al-Ahsa; the first phase was dedicated to female and male employees of the bank, volunteering in different regions and distributing leftovers to those in need, while the second phase, recently completed, included stocking and wrapping leftovers in the foundation’s centers across all regions.
During this campaign, adopted by the bank over a period of 8 months, many male and female volunteers from the bank participated by visiting numerous cities, getting acquainted with the foundation’s activities and work process. Etaam’s male and female employees contributed to the distribution of leftovers on the one hand as well as stocking and wrapping these leftovers on the other, knowing that all volunteers underwent all the necessary procedures before proceeding with the stocking and wrapping phase.
Participants at the bank expressed their happiness towards this year’s partnership between the bank and the foundation, opening the door to a bigger number of male and female employees to contribute in this noble voluntary work. Employees also praised the foundation’s activity and were fully prepared to take part in the initiative at any moment, whether it included stocking food leftovers or distributing them to those in need at their doorstep; believing in the necessity for solidarity when offering the type of work that guarantees the end-benefit in the best form and highest quality.
The bank’s efforts to increase volunteer work are consistent with the Saudi Vision 2030, which aims to reach one million volunteers, in line with the community’s culture and values, promoting the idea of collaboration and unity for the good of the community. This activity falls under social responsibility and volunteering initiatives of the year 2019. It is also one of the many programs adopted this year to serve society as a whole across the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
