This year, Al Rajhi Bank adopted the initiative of sponsoring and making Ramadan food baskets before the blessed month of Ramadan, as one of its social responsibility programs. The initiative was met with great enthusiasm by the bank’s employees (men and women) who were quick to sign in and participate in making the food baskets before distributing them. Last week, a convoy started distributing the food baskets to the needy to make sure they have what they need before the blessed month of Ramadan starts.
The food baskets contained more than 15 food ingredients that are most commonly used during Ramadan. The baskets were then distributed in 10 cities and areas in the Eastern Province, Jeddah, Makkah, Taif, Madinah, Al-Baha, the Northern borders, Hail, Qassim and Asir.
To enhance the participation rates of the employees in this noble endeavor, Al Rajhi Bank coordinated with the social responsibility ambassadors in these areas to receive the food baskets, and start distributing them with the help of the employees and some of the charity organizations in each city. The program was a success, as a lot of employees as well as ambassadors were quick to participate, believing in the importance of their social roles and aspiring to be awarded on those good deeds especially during the blessed month.
It’s worth mentioning that Al Rajhi Bank is keen on launching more voluntary programs in line with the Saudi 2030 Vision that aims at reaching 1 million volunteers by the year 2030. Moreover, the Bank believes that those kinds of initiatives resonate with the Saudi people whose culture is based on cooperation, solidarity, and serving the society. This initiative falls under the social responsibility and volunteer work carried by the Bank in 2018 and is one of many other programs the Bank adopted this year to serve most of the society segments all over the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
