In early November 2018, Al Rajhi Bank launched the first Female Graduate Program to prepare future leaders, in accordance with the Kingdom’s 2030 Vision; which aims to empower women and increase the opportunities for women workforce. This also comes in line with the Bank’s strategy to develop Saudi women talent. This program is a major enabler for the bank to achieve its aspiration in becoming “The Most Favored Workplace” and to be the foundation stone to build professional female cadres to manage or lead banking with high proficiency.
Mr. Khaled Al-Hazim, Head of Al Rajhi Human Resources Group, said that a careful approach was followed in selecting the candidates through various tests, such as, their ability to use the internet. Interviews were also conducted to select the top graduates from different national and international universities, while also giving the opportunity to the bank’s current female employees.
He also added that the first round of candidates included 15 Saudi graduates from different majors, including business management, information systems, languages and translation, economics, financial management, accounting, and marketing.
Al-Hazim also explained that the Graduate Development Program is designed to offer basic skills and knowledge, to help these young Saudi women to improve, and to choose the right career path for themselves in the bank. He also pointed out that this program is design for a period of 12 months, and comprises of the training schemes in lecture rooms, e-learning techniques, as well as practical training during work.
It is noteworthy here that Al Rajhi Bank’s general Graduate Development Program has been running for 3 consecutive years, and this year it launched Information Technology Alumni Program to prepare the future leaders. All these programs are consistent with Al Rajhi’s human resource slogan and principle: “We Live Our Values”. It also guarantees the success of the program in growing Al Rajhi bank’s future business, by having chosen a group of highly qualified Saudi youth who can meet the business needs.
Al Rajhi Bank is considered the biggest employer in the Saudi financial sector, with Saudization rate at 95%, which reaches 100% at women’s branches. The bank continues to increase the female workforce in line with the Kingdom’s Vision 2030.
It’s also worth mentioning that Al Rajhi’s Graduate Development Program which aims to prepare the bank’s future leaders was ranked as one of the best programs in the Kingdom. The bank was also recognized for the third year in a row for offering one of the best working environments in the Gulf.
