As a part of its corporate social responsibility program for 2018, Al Rajhi Bank developed a comprehensive program for International Volunteer Day and International Day of Persons with Disabilities. As a part of the initiative, several volunteer activities were organized for female employees in six cities across the Kingdom, including Jeddah, Makkah, Madinah, Al-Ras, Hail, and Al-Jawf.
The program also included a number of activities which were held in collaboration with the Disabled Children’s Association in the aforementioned cities. Under this initiative, volunteers visited the organization’s facilities where they learned about wheelchair etiquette and how to interact with disabled persons. The program ended with an educational and recreational party in which gifts were distributed to the children at the Association. The participating volunteers expressed their gratitude for having been given an opportunity to become a part of the event as it allowed them to give back to the society.
The volunteer efforts of the banks’ employees align with the Saudi Vision 2030 of the Kingdom which pays special attention to volunteer work and aims to reach a million volunteers by 2030. Such events also embody Saudi society and culture which encourage cooperation and solidarity for the sake of promoting public interest.
It is worth mentioning that the event was a part of the Social Responsibility and Volunteer Work Program adopted by the bank in 2018, and is the last event of its kind this year. The program consisted of over 75 initiatives and events which were held across 22 cities in the Kingdom. In 2018 alone, more than 14,000 volunteer hours were completed by the male and female employees of Al Rajhi Bank.
