In an initiative that reinforces the partnership between the private and charitable sectors in support of charitable giving in the Kingdom, Al Rajhi Bank has made a donation of SR 40 million as a contribution to the families who need it the most, in order to buy ready-built housing units, through the Jood Eskan platform for residential charitable giving, where the platform governs the delivery process for eligible families.
Mr. Abdullah bin Sulaiman Al Rajhi, Chairman of the Board of Directors, Al Rajhi Bank, who made news of the donation, said that the bank has always supported and encouraged social responsibility through various national initiatives and projects in various fields, whether through providing its direct or indirect support on public occasions and international days; in addition to making volunteer work easily accessible to male and female employees by integrating them in the community and building a sustainable relationship to make sure that they are an integrated part of society.
The Chairman of the Board of Directors also stressed on the bank’s support to those who need it the most through both the public and private sectors’ housing development programs and initiatives having an economic and social impact on the lives of these families. It also supports the empowerment of these family members and helps them strengthen their abilities but also motivates them in terms of productivity.
The bank’s support comes after the recent launch of the platform and the generous donation of SR 100 million, offered to Jood Eskan, by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz as well as that of the Crown Prince, His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz – May Allah protect him – of SR 50 million. Their donation is proof of their support to organizations and individuals with the aim to provide all that is necessary to serve and better the community.
The Jood Eskan platform is a national initiative that aims to facilitate and link charitable giving with those in need. The platform enables the automation of the support process to motivate individuals to contribute to charitable giving in residential areas and provide various housing services to families in need, as well as enable shareholders to participate in the provision of housing to beneficiaries with the utmost reliability, transparency and ease. Its importance also lies in its governance of charitable giving by partnering up with charities that feed the platform with cases that are proven eligible through accurate standards and its cooperation with relevant government agencies. Eligible cases are then showcased on the platform in order for benefactors to access them and offer their donations electronically and directly.
Official spokesperson of the platform, Mr. Majed bin Mousaed Aba Al-Khail, said that Al Rajhi Bank’s contribution strengthens the platform’s message in facilitating and governing charitable giving from the community to the community, and also stresses the importance of the role of the different economic sectors to form a stable society through charitable work. He added that the initiative also enhances the relationship between members of society and ensures the Kingdom’s role in organizing community work and activating organizations’ role in the private sector by offering social services.
Note that the Jood Eskan platform, affiliated to the Housing Development Association, was launched earlier this month with the generous contribution of SR 100 million by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and of SR 50 million by the Crown Prince, to support the platform. This donation took place at the beginning of the holy month of Ramadan, as a reflection of the leadership’s strong belief in supporting all segments of society and providing a more comfortable life.
