news details hero

alrajhi bank and the Fund for the Martyrs, Wounded, Prisoners of War, and Missing in Action have launched phase two of the "Dar Shahim" initiative, which will see the construction of 14 housing units expected to be handed over in early 2027. The launch follows the completed handover of 13 units in phase one, bringing the total number of units across both phases to 27 of the 50 units targeted by the initiative.

The homes are built on land owned by the beneficiaries, allowing families to benefit from it and addressing challenges that had prevented some of them from accessing other housing support programs offered by the Fund. The initiative aims to strengthen housing stability for more than 240 individuals from the families of the Fund's beneficiaries.

Waleed Al-Mogbel, Managing Director and CEO of alrajhi bank, said: "The Dar Shahim initiative stems from our loyalty to and appreciation for what our heroes have given in service of the nation, and from our belief that this appreciation must translate into a tangible and lasting impact on the lives of their families. In phase one, we witnessed how providing suitable housing strengthened the stability and quality of life of beneficiary families, and this is what drives us today, in partnership with the Fund, to build on what has been achieved and launch phase two of the initiative. Through this phase, we aim to expand the reach of Dar Shahim across the Kingdom's regions and strengthen its role in supporting the families of our heroes, in a way that reinforces their stability and reflects our appreciation for what their loved ones have given to this nation."

For his part, Talal bin Othman Al-Muammar, Secretary General of the Fund for the Martyrs, Wounded, Prisoners of War, and Missing in Action, said: "The launch of phase two reflects the Fund's continued commitment to providing housing solutions that address the needs of beneficiaries and contribute to their stability." Al-Muammar praised the strategic partnership with alrajhi bank, commending its significant cooperation in delivering the initiative, expanding its reach, and enhancing its impact on the quality of life of beneficiary families.

The Dar Shahim initiative is implemented through a non-profit organization with the participation of specialized national entities, under the supervision of the Fund and the bank, and in line with quality standards and guarantees that ensure the sustainability and construction quality of the homes. The initiative extends to beneficiaries across various regions of the Kingdom.
