Al Rajhi Bank, the leading Islamic Bank in the KSA, is pleased to announce the launch of Apple Pay to its customers in the Kingdom. Apple Pay is transforming mobile payments with an easy, secure and private way to pay that’s fast and convenient.
With the launch of Apple Pay, Al Rajhi Bank’s customers will be able to pay using iPhone and Apple Watch at retail stores via POS devices, and with iPhone, iPad and Mac while shopping in apps or online. When shopping in apps or online, there’s no need to manually fill out lengthy account forms or repeatedly type in shipping and billing information with Apple Pay.
Users will benefit from the security and simplicity of Face ID, which authenticates payments with just the double-click of the side button and a glance, and Touch ID. Security and privacy are at the core of Apple Pay. When you use a credit or debit card with Apple Pay, the actual card numbers are not stored on the device, nor on Apple servers. Instead, a unique Device Account Number is assigned, encrypted and securely stored in the Secure Element on your device. Each transaction is authorized with a one-time unique dynamic security code.
General Manager Retail, Al Rajhi, Banking Group, Mr. Saleh Alzumaie said, “at Al Rajhi, we always offer unique and innovative services in line with customers’ expectations and ambitions in order to better serve the community and facilitate daily life. Launching Apple Pay in the Kingdom is a way of staying up-to-date with the world and all aspects of digital transformation." He added, "the newly provided service is an addition to a wide variety of products and services that the bank — a pioneer in alternative banking channels, electronic services and digital banking — offers."
Apple Pay is easy to set up and users will continue to receive all of the rewards and benefits offered by Al Rajhi Bank's credit and debit cards in stores. Apple Pay works with iPhone 6 and later, iPhone SE and Apple Watch.
When paying for goods and services in-app or on Safari, Apple Pay works with iPhone 6 and later, iPhone SE, iPad Pro, iPad (5th generation and later), iPad Air 2, and iPad mini 3 and later. You can also use Apple Pay in Safari on any Mac introduced in or after 2012 running macOS Sierra and confirm the payment with iPhone 6 or later or Apple Watch, or with Touch ID on the new MacBook Pro and MacBook Air.
